MORSON LANE

A few things you should know about me.

I’ve spent 20 years working in talent, recruitment and people - and I still genuinely love the work.

Three things about me

I like the messy stuff.

Give me something that isn’t quite working and I’ll want to get into it. I like finding the thread, working out what matters and putting enough structure around things to make them work.

Not structure for structure’s sake. Just enough to make things better.

I ask “why?” a lot.

Why do we do it that way? What problem are we actually solving? Would we build it like this if we started again today?

I’ll challenge things that don’t make sense - but I’m equally interested in understanding why they might.

The interesting stuff usually sits underneath the first answer.

I drink the Kool-Aid.

When I connect with a business, I’m in. I want to understand the product, the customers, the people, the weird internal language and what everyone cares about.

If there’s a hoodie, there’s a reasonable chance I’ll be wearing it.

Because I think you do better work when you actually care about the business you’re doing it for.

I’ve been doing this for 20 years.

I love the strategy. And I’m just as happy rolling up my sleeves and doing the work.
